WHEN PRAYER MEETS SACRIFICE
1 Kings 3:3‭-‬5 KJV
"And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. "
Sacrificing without prayer can be likened to knocking on a door and running away before it is opened. Your sacrifice knocked on the door and when God opened, you were no where to be found. This ought not be.
In our opening text, we see that when King Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings to the Lord, after his sacrifice was received, God still came to him to ask what his request was. It was then King Solomon asked for wisdom.
God did not answer the offerings, He answered the prayer. However, the offerings create the portal or opening so that we can pray. God can not answer unless you pray.
re you believing God for a breakthrough? Know that He is able and willing to move on your behalf but, after you have sacrificed,
resort to fervent prayers because it is only your effectual and fervent prayers that will release your answers (James 5:16).
🙏 Startup Prayer
Heavenly Father, grant me the wisdom and strength to always align my sacrifices with heartfelt prayer. Help me to remain present and attentive to Your response, so that my offerings may be pleasing to You in Jesus' name, Amen.
PRAYER FOR A NATION - Afghanistan
Afghanistan is a Muslim-majority country with a small Christian minority. There is no official count of Christians in Afghanistan, as many are forced to keep their faith secret due to persecution. However, estimates suggest that there are only a few hundred to a few thousand Christians in the country.
Christianity is not recognized as a legitimate religion in Afghanistan, and converts from Islam face severe discrimination and even death. The country's constitution only recognizes Islam as the official religion, and apostasy (converting from Islam to another religion) is punishable by death.
Despite these challenges, there are some underground churches and Christian communities in Afghanistan, mostly made up of expatriates and converts from other religions. However, their activities are heavily restricted, and they often face harassment and intimidation from authorities and extremist groups.
Prayer for the nation:
Father, in the name of Jesus, We ask that you open the eyes of the believers in Afghanistan so they may see Your mighty army surrounding them. Help them to realize that, even when they feel outnumbered, there are more with them than against them in Jesus Name.
Prayer for the leaders:
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for the leaders of this nation and we ask that you will open their hearts to your truth and love so that they may be your instruments of peace in Jesus Name.
🕍 PRAYER FOR ISRAEL – ( Father, cause Israel to be victorious against her enemies, in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE Dear father, we pray for the Body of Christ and we ask in the Name of Jesus, that you will synchronize the heart of every believer and unify our spirits to receive and submit to Your vision for the church in Jesus Name.
💒PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
