1 Samuel 30:18-19 – “And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives. And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.”
In our daily lives, satan desperately tries to steal everything God kept in store for us, but, through prayer, we can recover anything taken from us once we identify what has been lost. While Satan may attempt to change God’s will or distort His plans through human mistakes or collaboration, prayer empowers us to reinstate the will of God in our lives and surroundings. God desires to bring restoration to every area of our existence; He longs to heal wounds caused by mistakes. Yet, this divine restoration requires our cooperation, especially in the place of prayer.
Consider King David and his men, who faced a devastating attack from the Amalekites in Ziklag. They lost their wives, sons, and daughters, and the situation was dire. The Bible tells us that David and his men wept until they could weep no more (1Sam 30:3-4). While their grief was genuine and heartfelt, it did not move God and hence, did not change their circumstances until David turned to God in prayer.
No matter what you are experiencing today—be it loss of time, resources, or a sense of being out of God’s will—remember that God desires to restore everything back to you, and He often wants to give you even more than you had before. The key is to approach Him in prayer, seeking His guidance and intervention. When you earnestly cry out to Him, He is faithful to restore and will replenish all that has been lost. Glory to God!
