Just like our opening text puts it bluntly; a person who continually refuses instruction and reproof will end up in poverty and shame. This may sound harsh, but it is the truth. So, what is it about heeding instruction that makes it so sensitive?

The Bible says that the man who heeds instruction is in the way of life (Prov. 10:17). In other words when you receive instructions and heed them, you will be guided and preserved in your goings, and will not stumble or fall.

God has placed people around you who He has given the authority to instruct you. This could be your parents, teacher, mentor, or pastor. They are to give you instructions and corrections as they guide you toward success.

Many times, also, the Spirit of God uses situations and happenings around you to instruct you. Such instructions can be perceived as you observe things and people around you (Prov. 24:32).

For instance, the failure of another person can instruct you, if you pay attention and think deeply about the occurrence. Whereas, if you are careless about observing and learning from such occurrences, you may be setting up yourself to repeat the mistake of others.

Therefore, be in readiness to receive and heed instructions from the Spirit of God as you study the Word, observe happenings around you, and walk in submission to those that God has placed over you. This is an important key to your preservation and honour.

Oh Lord, give me the humility to heed the instructions that you will send my way today, in the name of Jesus.

🏞️ PRAYER FOR A NATION – MOZAMBIQUE
Mozambique is about 46% Christian, 32% Ethnoreligious, and 18% Muslim. Years of suffering has led many Mozambicans to seek spiritual answers, and many churches have been planted! Yet there remains a great need for training and discipleship, particularly among the pastors and leaders of these newly planted churches.

1. Prayer for the nation: Father in the name of Jesus, grant unto the missionaries in Mozambique strength to withstand every persecution in the name of Jesus.
2. Prayer for the leaders: Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that you will give the leaders of Mozambique, wisdom to make laws that will promote righteousness, justice and equity, in the name of Jesus.

🕍PRAYER FOR ISRAEL – (Ps 122:6) 
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen
