Our opening text today is clear about one thing; God is not distant or indifferent about the welfare of His people; rather, He visits the earth, and it is such a blessing to have Him visit, because His visitation enriches our lives and brings a season of abundance, both spiritually and materially.
Throughout the Bible, we find accounts of God visiting His people, bringing about amazing blessings and interventions, but sadly today, many are of the opinion that such visits have ceased, yet the Bible shows us otherwise.
The Lord is the same, yesterday, today and forever, and just like He did with Adam (Gen. 3:8), and Abraham (Gen. 18), and Moses (Exo. 19), and even John the beloved on the Island of Patmos (Rev. 1), He still visits His people today. The challenge many times, is that those He visits are unaware of His coming, and thus unable to maximize His presence.
In the book of Exodus, we read about the children of Israel encountering the LORD when He visited at Mount Sinai. The Bible shows us that their faculties were opened, and they saw Him in lightnings, thundering and a thick cloud (Exo. 19:16). This was beyond a dream, they saw Him! How great are His visitations!
The person or people to whom God visits may also experience sudden breakthroughs in various areas because as the LORD visits, He leaves a blessing behind (Joel 2:14). His visitation also brings about kindness and mercy, which takes away debts, burdens, yokes, troubles, disappointments and leading suddenly to a new lease of life (Isa. 54:8).
Thus, it is such a beautiful and desirable thing to have God visit you, as that experience will turn your life around. So, prepare yourself by consecrating yourself, praying in the Holy Ghost and waiting on the Lord in readiness for His coming. It is your season to encounter the Lord!
