Thanksgiving does not only end with God. You must learn to appreciate certain people who may have played a vital role in your life. This group of persons according to scriptures, are referred to as ‘fathers and mothers’.
Honour is a system of God. The cycle of your thanksgiving would not be complete until you honour your parents. The categories of persons to appreciate include but is not limited to the following; biological fathers/mothers, spiritual fathers/mothers, etc. This appreciation should not be done with just words of mouth but also with substance, irrespective of the size and the level of possession they may already possess.
In summary, thanking fathers and mothers complete the circle of thanksgiving. When you thank God and do not thank men, you cancel the effect of God’s Word by such a tradition. Therefore, as you thank the LORD, set yourself to enjoy the fullness of God’s blessing by creating the opportunity to appreciate key players in your life.
