“Scriptural Text: Romans 4:20 (NKJV)
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.”
God is our Source, and there is nothing we need that His divine power has not already catered for in His providence, yet a double-minded believer would receive nothing of God’s provisions (James 1:8), because it takes consistency in seeking Him, and doing His will to experience the fulfilment of His promises.
Our opening text today speaks of Abraham who pressed in faith consistently even in the face of contradictions, until he possessed his promise. His life is an example to us about how we too can take delivery of God’s promises by being strong in faith.
Taking delivery of God’s promises requires an unwavering confidence that what God has said is true, and every other feeling, manifestation or impression is false and thus, only temporary. Each time you receive a promise from God in His Word, you must learn to disregard every other contrary opinion while you hold on only to what God has said.
Remember that your experience is not the truth or reality, God’s Word is (John 17:17). So, refuse to meditate on your situation or circumstance, but get up on your feet right now and with joy in your heart, declare your trust in the ability of God to fulfil His promise in your life. This is how to stay strong until you receive what God has promised.
