Philippians 4:6 KJV- Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Some Christians allow circumstances determine their prayer life. They ignorantly approach prayer only when they are in need or facing difficult situations, and neglect prayer during seasons of ease. This inconsistent approach undermines the true purpose of prayer, which is to express total dependency on God, not just to request something from Him.
Prayer is a demonstration of our dependency on God—it says, “I cannot do it on my own, I depend on You.” No matter how blessed or accomplished we may be, we must continue to pray, not because we want to keep asking for things, but because we need God. “I need God” is not just a statement, it is a continuous affirmation of reliance. Situations should not determine whether we pray or not rather, prayer should be our default posture, a practice that reflects our dependence on God for everything.
Therefore, commit to daily prayer as an expression of your dependency on God, trusting Him for both the small and big matters of your life. Let your heart’s cry always be, “I need You, God”. As you do this, you will reap the benefit of being guided by God at all times. Halleluyah!
