He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: From following the ewes’ great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.
Psalms 78:70-71
In expressing your thanksgiving to God through words, your choice of words matter. The choice of your words can be appropriately used to guage the depth of your gratitude. Take a clue from David in Psalms chapter 78 where he began giving thanks to God by recounting where God took him from. No wonder David knew how to get the heart of God.
He remembered the low place where he was before God lifted him up. That is enough to stir up one’s heart in thanksgiving. He always remembered the battles he won not because of his skills or great army but because he knew that it was God that gave him the victory.
Some believers don’t yet know how to articulate their thanksgiving or gratitude; they sometimes term it as being short of words but this could be as a result of not meditating enough to dig out all the things that the Lord has done for them. If you find yourself in this category then you would need to settle down and begin to outline your blessings one by one and you would eventually be surprised all the good things God has done for you! You can do so now!
