Haggai 1:5
“Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; consider your ways.”
God’s opinion is the accurate yardstick for determining how well we are doing per time, not what we or other men think. Therefore, when God says for you to consider your ways as we see in our text today, it is enough reason to pause, take time out, and cautiously appraise yourself in the light of His Word and make amends where necessary.
Many times, in pursuit of the things we feel we need more- like our daily bread, we neglect the things that really matter to God. And this is often because we may esteem our physical, social or emotional needs more than the satisfaction God and even ourselves derive from our obedience to Him.
Above all things in our lives, God wants us to place as priority, our obedience to His command because our obedience gives Him pleasure. Therefore, today and throughout this month, take out time to consider your ways, if they are in line with God’s word or not. It is time to set your priorities right and focus on the things that count with God, His blessings would only rest on you when you align yourself in obedience to His word. Halleluyah!
