CONTEND FOR TERRITORIES
Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Taking territories for God’s kingdom and expanding its frontiers requires us to engage in spiritual warfare. Like we see in our opening text, Jesus desires that the Gospel be taken to all nations of the earth, but we can not do this effectively without confronting the demonic spirits and strongholds over these cities. In some nations, there are strong holds of religion, immorality, and various forms of perversion. To reach these nations, we must first contend in the place of prayer.
Beyond the physical leaders of nations, there are spiritual principalities that govern these territories, seeking to hinder the spread of the Gospel and prevent believers from receiving answers to their prayers. However, through the authority we possess in Christ Jesus, we can counter their influence, forcing them to retreat and liberating their captives. While we may not be able to completely stop these forces from operating in these regions, we can establish God’s kingdom and significantly limit their impact, making it difficult for them to exert their control.
Today, take a stand in prayer for regions and nations of the world. Use the authority given to you in Christ to bind the forces of darkness and declare freedom over these territories, knowing that your prayers can open the way for God’s Kingdom to flourish and for people to be saved. Glory to God!
START-UP PRAYER:
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask that you empower me with boldness to take territories for your kingdom in the place of prayer in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR A NATION
AZERBAIJAN
Over eighty-six percent of the nation’s ten million citizens are practicing Muslims. Religious institutions are still required to register with the Azeri government in order to congregate, and religious literature must be approved before publishing. Christians are often harassed by law enforcement, threatened by heavy fines, and forced to avoid congregating because of the inability to adhere to strict regulations. Many citizens are imprisoned for worshipping without proper registration.
PRAYERS FOR THE NATION:
Father, in the Name of Jesus, we pray for effective teaching Ministries to enter the land and take advantage of the situation in the land to draw many to your truth in the Name of Jesus.
PRAYER FOR THE LEADERS:
Father, in the Name of Jesus, we bring the President and other leaders in different positions before you, we ask they will find mercy and grace before you as they look for solutions to the different problems that are affecting this nation in the Name of Jesus.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL:
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for the current leaders in Israel, we ask that you raise up government leaders in Israel who will recognize the unique significance of Jerusalem in God’s end-time purposes.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH:
Father, we pray that every attempt of hell to sabotage and discredit the Church will not stand in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL:
Father in the name of Jesus, pour out your Spirit mightily upon the lost and unsaved souls in our city so that many would begin to receive the Gospel that we preach in Jesus Name.
