ENGAGE IN SACRIFICE
John 12:24 (KJV) “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”
In prayer, it is easy to seek breakthroughs and blessings, yet overlook the vital role of sacrifice in unlocking spiritual treasures. While prayer is indeed powerful, there are certain levels of divine intervention and heavenly activity that can only be triggered through sacrifice. Without practicing sacrificial giving in our prayers, we may find ourselves wondering why certain answers or blessings remain out of reach, even after much effort.
Sacrifice is an essential spiritual principle that Jesus Himself demonstrated through His death on the cross. Although Christ’s ultimate sacrifice brought salvation to all, it also reveals a principle we are called to partake in as believers. Sacrifice in prayer is about giving up something valuable to release something greater in the spiritual realm. Just as a seed must fall to the ground and die to bring forth fruit, so must we be willing to sacrifice what we hold dear in obedience to God. Sacrifice activates the forces of heaven on our behalf, opening doors to God’s promises and blessings that may otherwise remain closed.
Reflect on what areas of your life you need to surrender as a sacrifice unto God. Is there something valuable, whether time, resources, or desires, that you are holding onto? Lay it at the altar of sacrifice in prayer, trusting that God will use it to bring forth much fruit in your life. By making sacrifices that please God, you not only honor Him, but you also activate the spiritual forces that work in your favor. As you let go in faith, watch God release the greater harvest He has in store for you. Halleluyah!
START-UP PRAYER:
Father, I thank You for the principle of sacrifice and the example You set through Jesus Christ. Help me to recognize what You are calling me to sacrifice in this season. As I lay it down, may it activate Your divine power and release Your promises in my life in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR A NATION
BOLIVIA
Bolivians are overwhelmingly Catholic (at least formally), and the Catholic Church has historically wielded enormous influence. It is now being threatened by the sizable increase in Protestant and other non-Catholic denominations. A further challenge is the large number of baptized Roman Catholics, over one-half, that practice Catholicism with traditional Inca and Christo-pagan religions. The number of Evangelical Christians has risen to over fifteen percent and their influence is growing. Some form of the Bible is available in most Bolivian languages, but illiteracy prevents many from reading it. Bolivia is changing politically and many are unsure of the future, but each day they live with poverty and the resulting social issues.
