LEAN ON GOD
2 Corinthians 3:5 KJV
not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
In today’s world, many people are tempted to lean on their own understanding, trusting in their abilities, knowledge, and resources. This attitude of self-reliance creates a barrier to fully depending on God. The more we feel capable and self-sufficient, the less we seek God’s guidance, often leading to frustration and disappointment when things don’t go as planned.
The entire system of the Earth is designed by God to show us that we cannot thrive by ourselves. Our sufficiency must come from God. He delights in revealing His power not for His own glory alone, but to show that power on our behalf. A prayerless person therefore, is someone who believes they can be sufficient by themselves, but this is a deception because you miss the true joy of walking in divine partnership with God. Furthermore, when we rely on our strength, we limit ourselves but, when we depend on God, we access limitless grace and power to conquer any situation.
Evaluate your life today—are you trying to handle things by yourself? Let this be a reminder to you that your sufficiency is from God not your abilities or skill. Surrender every aspect of your life to Him and watch how He reveals His power in your life. Glory to God!
START-UP PRAYER:
Father, i ask for grace to stop leaning on my own strength and understanding. Teach me to trust in You completely and to find my sufficiency in You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
PRAYER FOR A NATION
BELIZE
The majority of Belizeans profess Christianity but often combine it with other religious practices including superstitions, paganism, and black magic. This diluted form of Christianity is exemplified by the ten percent of people who attend church weekly, and the 70% of pastors who are bivocational. Belize is a common destination for short-term mission trips, and while this provides many benefits to the nation such as reading skills, health care, and childcare, it also causes a dependent and reliant spirit amongst the nationals.
PRAYER FOR THE NATION:
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that you transform the hearts of the believers in this land and through them, you cause a mighty revival amongst the whole land in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR THE LEADERS
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask for the spirit of prophecy to start to work in the leaders of this land where they start to speak by you spirit whether they know it or not, like you did with Caiaphas in the Bible in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, we pray that the you will fill believers in Israel and the West Bank with wisdom, sensitivity and patience to share the Gospel with Jews and Muslims and answer objections with grace, clearly presenting Jesus to them in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask that you keep us committed to sharing Your salvation and Your beautiful, wonderful, life-changing, eternity-altering name in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the allure of wealth and riches will not blind the heart of the unsaved souls to the true riches found in Christ in Jesus Name.
