“Scriptural Text: Daniel 6:3 (NKJV)
“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.”
Success is not by chance. When we look through God’s Word, we see several accounts of believers who received promotion from God, and how they achieved it. For instance, our opening text today speaks about Daniel, a man of distinct character. The Bible says he was of an excellent spirit. Little wonder he was distinguished from the other children of Judah.
When you live our life based on the values of God’s Word in such a way that others come to identify you with those values, you are automatically setting yourself up for a promotion. This is because even unbelievers recognize and admire such values. Nebuchadnezzar’s choice of Daniel as the Governor over his Kingdom reflects this truth.
Therefore, as you go about your business today, remember that what it means to live a good life is to live by the Word. It is to operate by an excellent spirit just like Daniel, which sets you up to experience favour even from the most unexpected of places. Halleluyah!
