Deuteronomy 6:6-7
_And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest_
God’s Word is truth (John 17:17). When we keep the Word of God in our hearts, it instills and preserves the fear of God in us. It is the word of God in a man that keeps guard over his heart at all times, and puts him in the will of God always (Prov 4:23).
No wonder, the patriarch David declared, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11). So, the Word of God helps you to refrain from sinning against God. How profound! When we do not desire and pay attention to God’s Word, His fear cannot be instilled in our hearts and then we easily fall into compromise. Compromise happens when your fear for man is greater than your fear for God.
Determine today therefore, to begin to pursue after the Word of God and meditate on it day and night until you begin to walk daily in the fear of the Lord.
