Romans 8:26 KJV
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
The idea of maintaining consistent prayers can feel overwhelming at times. Often, it seems like all possible prayer points have been exhausted, leading to discouragement and the belief that there’s no need to pray the next day. This mindset can cause spiritual stagnation, preventing growth and missing out on deeper fellowship with God. Prayer isn’t just about presenting requests; it’s about staying connected with God, and for this, we need help beyond our own abilities.
To address this, we must rely on the Holy Spirit. Our opening text us teaches that the Holy Spirit helps us in our weaknesses, especially when we don’t know what to pray. Sometimes, it feels like you have the perfect prayer point when approaching the place of prayer, but the Spirit knows what is more urgent. By praying in tongues, He can handle what is more pressing, even without your knowledge. This is why praying in tongues cannot be overemphasized. He guides us, gives us insight, and intercedes on our behalf when words fall short. This assurance means we are never truly empty in prayer because the Spirit is our helper, showing us what to pray even when we feel overwhelmed. Through His guidance, consistent prayer becomes possible, leading us into a more profound communion with God.
Therefore, make a decision today to rely on the Holy Spirit in your prayer life. Even when you feel out of words or drained, trust that the Spirit will direct you. Allow Him to lead you into deeper prayers that surpass human understanding. With the Holy Spirit’s help, your prayer life will be filled with consistency, power, and new revelations of God’s grace. Glory to God!
START-UP PRAYER
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask that You teach me to rely on Your spirit when I feel lost or weak in the place of prayers, so I may remain consistent in my time with You in Jesus Name. Amen.
PRAYER FOR A NATION
BENIN
Historically one of the least evangelized nations in Africa, the Church in Benin has grown from 50,000 people to 770,000 in just thirty years. However, the nation also has one of the highest rates of syncretism, specifically combining Christianity, animism, and Voodoo. The need for trained pastors is in high demand. There is also great need for a media ministry in Benin, as most of the nation is illiterate. Nearly half of the languages in Benin do not have a Bible to inform the 60 total people groups of the loving nature of God.
PRAYER FOR THE NATION
Father, we pray for unity among Christ followers to draw non-believers to Christ in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR THE LEADERS
Father, we commit the Parliament and lawmakers of Benin into Your hands. Grant them wisdom as they draft and enact laws that will govern the nation in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, we pray that the Muslim Arabs will be delivered from the snare of Islam, and have a revelation of Jesus as the Son of God and risen Savior in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father, we ask that you open our eyes to the harvest before us. Lead us as a church to go out in the fields and get to work. We pray that you raise up men, women and children to make disciples here and around the world.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father, in the name of Jesus we stand against the spirit of the power of the air, that is at work in the soul of the unsaved and we declare that the blood of Jesus is against you in Jesus Name.
