Psalm 105:5 (KJV)
“Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; His wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;”
As the year comes to a close, it is essential to take time to reflect on all that God has done in your life. Our opening scripture reminds us to “remember His marvellous works,” which includes the miracles, blessings, and victories we have experienced throughout the year. It is easy to get caught up in the rush of life and forget the goodness of God, but this season provides the perfect opportunity to look back and acknowledge His hand at work. By remembering His works, you begin to stir up a heart of gratitude that overflows in praise to God for His faithfulness.
True gratitude begins with the understanding that every blessing in our lives is a direct result of God’s goodness. It is easy to think that we have achieved things on our own, through our intelligence, wealth, or skills, but we must remind ourselves that it is God who has enabled us to succeed. When we reflect on His faithfulness, we cultivate a heart that overflows with praise rather than self-reliance. This attitude of gratitude not only honors God, but it also positions us to receive more from Him, as He delights in our acknowledgment of His blessings.
This season, make it a habit to remember and declare all that God has done for you throughout the year. Speak out His faithfulness and recount the marvelous things He has done. Let this remembrance propel you into praise and thanksgiving, where you give God all the glory for the victories, breakthroughs, and miracles in your life. As you do, expect that the cycle of blessings will continue, and God will release even greater favours upon you. Let your gratitude bring glory to God and prepare your heart for what He has in store in the coming year.
