Some people worry and have sleepless nights about how to acquire the things of this life. Some others sacrifice their commitment to God in pursuit of daily bread, putting themselves in a position where they often compromise their faith to meet their needs. But our opening text today shows us God’s strategy to bring us into a harvest of surplus, by seeking the kingdom as a priority.
When you seek God’s Kingdom as a priority, He causes things to be added to you. This addition is initiated by God Himself, as He begins to bring ideas and people your way that will cause wealth to be transferred to you.
In Ecclesiastes 2:26, we see one of God’s strategies for addition; He allows the sinner i.e. one who does not serve Him, to endure the travail of gathering things, so that he can ultimately relinquish it to the man who is good in God’s sight.
This shows that there are provisions made for you by the Father which at the moment may be in the possession of an unbeliever somewhere. Your focus should not be on attempting to reclaim those possessions. Rather, it should be on seeking God’s kingdom and His righteousness, because He already has a plan to put it in your hand.
Therefore, though you wake up each day and go about your job or business with all diligence, do not let the desire to acquire things control your life. Instead, position yourself to receive the addition that God is bringing your way, by prioritizing God’s Kingdom and righteousness today. This is a guaranteed and sure way into prosperity.
