And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
1 Kings 17:13 KJV
As believers, setting the right foundation is of utmost importance. To do so, you’ve got to set your heart to give God’s word utmost priority. Prioritizing the Word means that you treat the word with gravity, as it is revealed to you through the scriptures or spoken directly to you by the mouth of His prophet. A believer who believes and acts on the word always, will enjoy the overflow.
As we see in our scriptural text, the widow received a specific instruction from the Prophet to make a little cake first for himself, and then for herself and her son. It was a very hard decision to make but seeing that she already had far less than enough. But glory to God, in the end, because she trusted in the word of the prophet, she instantly entered into surplus supply!
You can never lose acting in obedience to God’s word. You only lose when you don’t. No matter how bad the situation, if you would believe in the word of the prophet, you would prosper (2Ch20:20). As you step out today, set your heart to obey the instructions that have come from the mouth of your prophet. The overflow is yours!
