1 kings 17:13
And Elijah said unto her, fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring unto me, and after make for thee and thy son
Man is a logical being and so he is poised to make decisions based on reasoning. While this is good, it does not always represent the ideal way God works, as they the ways of God are often outside the boaders of human reasoning. We have therefore been called to walk by faith and not by the senses if we must walk with God.
Elijah was sent to the widow of Zarephath in the days of famine and though she had just one last meal left, she gave heed to the words of the prophet and she never lacked again. In our present day, most people and the media would have severely castigated the prophet for being so greedy, heartless and lacking empathy. Yet,this was the wisdom of God in operation.
Blessed was the widow for responding right- in faith! She was set up for overflow by letting go of the little she had. Your fear should not be what determines your action neither should social and economic conditions have the upper hand in your decisions. You can sow your way out of that situation and be placed in a position of advantage today. Sow that special seed as you are stirred by the Spirit; sow in faith and with the right attitude ,and you will experience an overflow in your life. Glory to God!
