STAND IN THE GAP

📖 Ezekiel 22:30
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

Many believers face the challenge of misunderstanding the true power and purpose of prayer. Prayer has been reduced to a mere routine or afterthought, rather than being recognized as the first thing one must do to demonstrate dependency on God. This misunderstanding limits the impact that prayer can have on both individual lives and society at large.

Prayer is not an attempt to beg or convince God to act; rather, it’s about inviting Him to do what only He can do. As seen in our opening text, God will not intervene in earthly matters unless He is asked in prayer. This highlights the immense value God places on prayer—it is His chosen method for bringing change and fulfilling His will on earth.

Instead of complaining about a matter, make it a priority to take it to God in prayer. The same energy used in complaining can be diverted to prayer. So, let your prayers be the vehicle that establishes God’s will for your life on earth, just as it is in heaven. Hallelujah!

START-UP PRAYER:
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask for grace to be consistent in prayer, so that I can birth your will here on earth just as it is in Heaven in Jesus Name.

PRAYER FOR A NATION

Over eighty-six percent of the nation’s ten million citizens are practicing Muslims. Religious institutions are still required to register with the Azeri government in order to congregate, and religious literature must be approved before publishing.Christians are often harassed by law enforcement, threatened by heavy fines, and forced to avoid congregating because of the inability to adhere to strict regulations. Many citizens are imprisoned for worshipping without proper registration.

PRAYER FOR THE NATION:
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for the unsaved in this nation, and we ask that the eyes of their understanding will be enlightened, and the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ will shine in their hearts.

PRAYER FOR THE LEADERS:
Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask that you give the nation, leaders that will make laws to drive morality and the Fear of the Lord amongst the people so that they can live peaceful and quiet lives in the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, in the name of Jesus, in Your mercy, vanquish the tremendously powerful religious spirits which dominate the whole territory today in the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask for grace to live in harmony and resist every thought or act of division in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray for men and women out there in this city who do not know you; we cry out for their souls that they will be convinced of the reality of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, and they will be bold to accept and declare his lordship.
