And I, and all the people that are with me, will approach unto the city: and it shall come to pass, when they come out against us, as at the first, that we will flee before them,”
People fail to achieve their objectives because they have a poor strategy, or no strategy at all. A strategy, according to the Oxford dictionary, refers to a plan of action designed to achieve a long-term or overall aim. It as a detailed plan for achieving success in situations. Simply put, it is your plan to achieve your dream.
Having a good idea is not enough, because a good idea executed with a bad strategy will always fail. As we see in our scriptural text today, Joshua was not merely wishing or hoping to defeat the armies of the enemy, he had a sequence of plans, that addressed the various possible scenarios in the ensuing battle. A war is not always won by might, but strategy is key to victory.
Therefore, in the pursuit of your dream, consider your strategy. How do you intend to surmount all possible challenges in reaching your desired goal? Remember that the distinguishing factor between those who fail and those who succeed is in the quality of the strategy they employ. So, invest your time into developing a strategy that is well thought out, in alignment with God’s Word, and utilizing the latest technology and information in your field.
