SUBDUE THE FLESH

📖 1 Corinthians 9:27
but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

One of the most important truths in our walk with Christ is understanding the need to put our flesh under subjection to ascend to higher levels in prayer. The flesh represents our carnal inclinations that keep us anchored in routine and ineffective spiritual practices. When we allow the flesh to dominate, our prayers become mere rituals, lacking true transformation and breakthrough.

As we pray, the flesh tries to distract us with thoughts of daily concerns and worldly desires. But it’s precisely at this point that we must press on, for just beyond this barrier lies the breakthrough we seek. We must recognize that the flesh is a hindrance to our spiritual progress and intentionally push past its distractions. Breaking the flesh requires fervency and intense focus in prayer. When we succeed in subduing the flesh, we align ourselves with God’s power, and direction comes that brings transformation.

Therefore, reflect on your prayer life, identify areas where the flesh may be hindering your progress, and commit to a season of fervent prayer. Ask God to help you break through these barriers so you can experience true transformation in your walk with Him. Glory to God!

START-UP PRAYER:
Oh Lord, I acknowledge the distractions and weaknesses that my flesh brings into my spiritual life. I ask for your strength to break through these barriers and to experience true deliverance in my prayer life in Jesus Name.

Bahamians enjoy religious freedoms, with the majority of the population being Christian.However, Wealth and material things have become extremely important in Bahamian culture and have contributed to a rise in crime – mainly armed robbery and petty theft. Standards of morality have decreased, especially more births out of wedlock and drug use. While the majority of the people claim to be Christian, fewer are committed to the Church, and many churches lack pastoral leadership. The people need spiritual guidance and encouragement to continue the Lord’s work and to minister to the younger generation and the Haitian refugees.

PRAYER FOR THE NATION:
Father, in the Name of Jesus, we pray that the church in this nation will overflow in all the gifts of the Spirit, including powerful preaching, healing and prophetic revelation in the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR THE LEADERS:
Father, in the Name of Jesus, we pray for every leader in Argentia, that their hearts will be opened to receive the Word and willingly apply it in the daily affairs of the nation in the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL:
Father, in the Name of Jesus, we ask that you turn the hearts of the people of Israel to trust in the name of the Lord for deliverance—not in the “chariots and horses” of their military mightin Jesus Name.

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH:

Father, in the name of Jesus we ask that you help us to be diligent in prayer, steadfast in faith, and fervent in love in the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask for the outpour of your Spirit upon this city, that we may overcome the barriers and the resistance against the Gospel, that many may come to the true light of the Lord Jesus Christ.
