SURRENDER TO THE LORD

“Luke 22:42 – “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done.”

Many times, the art of surrender is what many believers struggle to come to terms with, yet it is as important as water is to fish, as we develop in our walk with God. Surrendering to the Lord requires a willingness to put away our own thinking, opinion and reservations while embracing God’s plans and purposes for our lives.

As believers, if we must grow in intimacy with God, then we must learn to surrender to Him completely knowing that He knows what is best for our lives. This is what we see Jesus do in our opening text today. He had spent the night praying and depriving Himself of sleep for this one thing; that the impending suffering on the cross would pass over Him, yet in the end, He embraced God’s will in total surrender. Thereafter, the Bible says an angel came to strengthen Him.

Thus, we see that when we yield to the Lord, even when it seems difficult, He is always there to strengthen us to become all He has planned for us. So, ask the Holy Spirit for grace to yield to Him in all things so He can work out in you what is written of you in God’s book. Hallelujah!

Startup Prayer:
Father in the name of Jesus, I ask that you give me the grace, just like the Lord Jesus, to surrender myself and my all to you in every situation, that your will may be done and perfected in my life, in Jesus Name.

Prayer for the nation:
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for all those that have received the Lord Jesus in the nation, that they will be strengthened in their inner man to continue until the end and not give up, in Jesus name.

Prayer for the leaders: Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that You will remove leaders and men of authority that you did not set up. Give this nation selfless leaders, men and women of wisdom and understanding; leaders who will not cause the people to err, in Jesus name.

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL – (Ps 122:6)
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask today, that there will be peace in Jerusalem, and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen. (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray and declare that the body of Christ will have one mind and speak with one voice, in actualizing your purpose on the earth, in Jesus name.

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we cry for a release of your mercy upon every unsaved soul in this city and its environs, that they will be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
