Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
Proverbs 3:9
There is a relationship between thanksgiving and honor. Thanksgiving is a way of honoring God for what has done for or in you. If thanksgiving is a form of honor and scriptures teach us to honor the Lord with our substance, it then implies that thanksgiving can also be expressed through our substance.
Thanking God with your substance could include giving a sacrificial giving, a seed offering or helping the less privileged around you.This, however, has to be done in honour. Honour can be seen in the quality of your substance, in the posture of your presentation, and in the value of your seed. Honour in thanksgiving can make all the difference between an acceptable or unacceptable thanksgiving.
It is thus wise to carefully consider the measure to which God has blessed you, prepare a substance commensurate to His blessing and offer this in honour to Him. This is what completes the circuit of power and sets you up for unprecedented increase. Halleluyah!
