Numbers 25:11-12
Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy. [12] Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:_
There is such a thing as the covenant of peace. This is one of the many covenants that God gives to a man that fears Him. Just as we see in Job 1:1, a man who truly fears God would also hate evil. And to such a man, God can give the covenant of peace.
Phinehas was an example of such in the Scriptures. God had given judgment against the Israelites for committing whoredom and while Moses was still addressing the people, a man walked right in through the face of Moses with a whore. Immediately Phinehas saw this, he went straight to the tent where they lay and thrust a javelin through them and they both died. Right after this, the Lord established with him (Phinehas), His covenant of peace. What a righteous judgement!
So, do you want to enjoy God’s covenant of peace today? If yes, then begin to train yourself to hate evil as a show of your fear for God. The measure of your hatred for evil is directly proportional to the measure of your fear for God, which could earn you a covenant of peace with the Lord. Hallelujah!
