Prov 3:9
Honor the LORD with thy substance and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.
The first fruit is an honor system that places God first. As the name implies, first fruit simply refers to the first fruit or produce from whatever you do. It refers to the first harvest or income of your job or business.
Today, however, since we mostly conduct and transact business in cash, the first fruit can be described as giving God the first of your income or a particular substance you receive as a sign of honor.
If you decide to honor the Lord with your first, you declare boldly to Him that He is first in your life. As we begin the New Year, there is no better time to let Him know that no one is before Him in your life by choosing to honor Him with your first. Begin to plan this today. Hallelujah!
