DEVELOP GODLY HABITS

“Luke 4:16 -And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.”

The things we do as a matter of habit point to what we value and hold in high esteem. Those who walk in obedience to God as a matter of principle show how dearly they love the Lord and esteem His word.

Our opening text today shows us one of the habits that the Lord Jesus possessed. He entered into the synagogue to preach every Sabbath. This habit was consistent with His purpose on earth. At other times, the Bible recorded that He excused Himself to find time alone with God in prayer (Mark 1:35). These were some of the habits of Christ which reflect His value for righteousness and unbroken fellowship with God.

You too can develop habits that glorify God and bless men as you yield to the voice of God’s Spirit. Begin by walking in obedience to God’s instructions and thus walk in the glory of God like Jesus did. Remember that obedience to God will cause you to live in ceaseless favour. Begin today to cultivate habits that would elevate you into the place of favour with God.

PRAYER FOR A NATION – ST. LUCIA
Evangelically-oriented churches have multiplied. However, there is the need for true unity amid the increasing diversity so that churches can offer a united front for the Gospel’s sake.

Prayer for the Nation:
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the door of the Gospel will be opened to the unreached people in this nation, in Jesus name.

Prayer for the Leaders:
Father in the name of Jesus, ask that you will help the leaders of this nation to seek after you, that they may receive wisdom to build the nation according to your master plan.

Prayer for Israel – (Ps 122:6)
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask today, that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen. (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the spirit of grace and supplication will rest upon the church today, in Jesus name.

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we bind the spirit of the air that operates through satellite and television to promote sin and wickedness.
