SCRIPTURAL TEXT
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecclesiastes 12:13
The fear of God and disobedience can never co-exist because they operate in two different worlds. A man who operates in reverential fear of God is a man who has an understanding of who God is and what He can do. With such an understanding it becomes easy to trust in God and submit totally to Him.
Submitting to God at all times will not always be convenient or logical to the natural mind but it will always lead to glory. Consider this; God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son- Isaac. The obedience God required of Abraham that day was as absolute as any could be. And as always, Abraham was quick to obey God. We see from scripture that this submission stemmed from his fear for God (Genesis 22:12), and today he is the father of us all (Romans 4:16).
To serve God in fear and reverence, we must learn total obedience and submission to Him and to His word at all times. Glory to God!
