Just as our opening text today shows us, healing the sick is our responsibility, as it is a direct instruction from the Lord. The Bible records that Christ Himself went about healing those who were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38). In the same way, we are to stand in His name to bring the healing power of God into the lives of the sick by the power of the Holy Spirit.

However, the first step in actualizing this calling is by taking our place in intercession for the sick and afflicted. Our responsibility to the sick begins with a heart of compassion that longs to see them made whole and walk in divine health in line with God’s provisions.

For instance, the Bible says that by Christ’s stripes, we were healed, so, pray that every sick person will receive this revelation and walk in that light, refusing to allow infirmity to fasten itself to their body. Also, pray that the sick will have faith to be healed, and that all they have lost by virtue of their sickness will now be restored.

Therefore, as you step out today, be conscious of your role in praying for the sick, as you partner with the Lord Jesus to bring wholeness and restoration to those He will send your way today.

With much of the country controlled by Islamic fanaticism, believers face extreme persecution and are often among the poorest.

1. Prayer for the nation: Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for the spiritually oppressed in remote areas of Pakistan, that they will encounter the Gospel and be saved, in the name of Jesus.
2. Prayer for the leaders: Father in the name of Jesus, touch the hearts of the Pakistani leaders today, and cause them to desire righteousness and begin to thirst for the truth, in the name of Jesus.
