One truth about gratitude is that, it opens our spiritual eyes to see the beautiful cycle in giving God thanks. The more we thank Him, the more we see Him working in us and around us. Gratitude helps us to sense God’s presence, His personal care, and His perfect timing.
In our opening scripture, despite being imprisoned, Paul remained grateful and even taught others to be grateful as well. Paul’s relationship with Christ and the disposition of gratitude he cultivated helped him remain thankful even in the midst of his suffering.
Not only was he thankful to God, but he also spent much of the first chapter expressing his gratitude for the Philippians, his fellow believers. Here, we are reminded to also show appreciation to people who have had major impacts in our lives.
When we are thankful, our focus moves off selfish desires and off the pain of current circumstances. Expressing thankfulness helps us remember that God is in control. It reminds us of the bigger picture, that we belong to God, and that we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1:3).
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear Father, help me to see you in everything and
express my gratitude always in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR MALAYSIA
Background: 31% are unreached with the Gospel. They are mostly Muslim but with some Hindus and Buddhists as well.
The Malaysian Church has a wonderful opportunity to reach many unevangelized groups who are right on their doorstep.
We are praying for the Christians in Malaysia that a passion for souls will burn in their heart for the unsaved.
Dear Lord, you are the builder of all things, cause the leaders to work together harmoniously and not get
sidetracked by partisan politics.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in
Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
We pray, help us to love one another as you have loved us in Jesus
name
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for men and women out there in this city who do not know you; we cry
out for their souls that they will be convinced of the reality of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, and
they will be bold to accept and declare his lordship
