Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.”
Psalm 54:4-5
Deception is a very serious transgression in the sight of God. Our scriptural text today shows us the judgment for those who engage in it. Deception refers to the action of deceiving someone. It means the act of hiding the truth, especially in order to get an advantage.
Deception also refers to the act of causing someone to accept as true or valid, what is false or invalid as a way of causing that person to be misled. Deception is of the devil, and the Bible says that God abhors deceit.
You, therefore, need to look within yourself. Think and meditate on every deception you have allowed in your life or caused in the life of others. Think about every form of manipulation you have yielded to and brought others into. You also need to consider every teaching or word that was not true that has put people in bondage. Think about it, be sorry for it and begin to repent today.
