OBTAINING SPIRITUAL MOMENTUM - DEVOTIONAL BOX

SCRIPTURAL TEXT: 2 Thessalonians 1:3

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith
groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth

Having momentum, is likened to having an object moving at a fast pace
because of the applied force on the object. When a person has no
momentum, even the slightest of problems will seem insurmountable. However, when there is momentum on the inside, obstacles appear as nothing, troubles seem temporary and the future looks bright. As a believer, your spiritual momentum increases, just as your faith grows.

Our opening scripture shows that as the faith of the Thessalonian church grew exceedingly, their momentum also grew resulting in their preaching of the word with power, increased presence of the Holy Spirit and a strong confidence in God. The more you grow in faith therefore, the greater momentum you are able to operate by. This momentum moves you from your present state to a new height in line with God’s vision and purpose for you.
A stunted faith, is a stunted momentum, and a stunted momentum delivers defeat. Today therefore, make a commitment to focus on spiritual exercises that grow your faith and not those that starve your faith. Choose to increase and maintain your spiritual momentum and nothing will stand against you successfully.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Dear Father, help me to give myself to spiritual exercises daily, so as to maintain a spiritual momentum in Jesus name.

Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

PRAYERS FOR NATIONS & LEADERS ( BOTSWANA )

Tswanas are Christians by name mostly as there is widespread of immorality, drunkenness including a high proportion of illegitimate children. Botswana has the world’s second-highest prevalence of AIDS after Swaziland.

1. We are praying that the glorious Gospel of Christ will prevail in this nation and that many will pursue after righteousness in Jesus name.
2. We pray for the leaders of this nation that even when they have different opinions and agendas, help them to find common ground and find ways to compromise. Help our leaders to be mutually supportive of one another.

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL

Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that your light will cover this city that in all places, desire for your word and to know your Son will cause men to come to the knowledge of salvation through us in every place.
