Luke 17:14
There is a right tone for thanksgiving. There is no such thing as thanksgiving without an expression. We often hear people say words like “I will thank God in my mind” or “I am grateful in my heart”. That is not complete thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving starts in the heart but does not stop there. True thanksgiving must be expressed in heartfelt word and actions. From our opening scripture, observe that the leper expressed his gratitude by glorifying God with a loud voice. He was not ashamed neither was he afraid of the people. He was truly grateful to the Lord. This is the right tone of thanksgiving.
Most times when we have needs in prayer, we cry and lift up our voices, not minding the presence of anyone. However, when we receive our testimonies, we tend to keep it to ourselves or at best murmur a quiet gratitude in our hearts. We would be unable to receive the perfection of God with that attitude. Make it a habit to glorify God with the right tone today! Did I hear you shout ‘Glory to God’?!
