In today’s fast-paced world, we often find ourselves caught in a whirlwind of never-ending tasks, deadlines, and obligations, constantly striving to accomplish more, be more, and have more, but at what cost?
In our opening text today, we see that the Lord Jesus Himself recognized the need for stillness amidst the demands of life. He understood the importance of retreating from the noise and demands of the world to seek solace in the presence of God.
Busyness can be deceptive, because it can get one entangled in a web of constant motion, thinking that the more we do, the more fulfilled we will be. However, in that relentless pursuit, we often neglect the things that truly matter – our relationship with God, our loved ones, and our own well-being.
Busyness hinders our ability to truly connect with God, listen to His voice, and discern His guidance. When we are constantly engaged in a flurry of activity, our minds become cluttered, and our souls are restless. The noise of busyness drowns out the gentle whisper of the Holy Spirit, and we may miss out on the profound guidance that His voice brings.
Therefore, cultivating stillness in our daily life ought to be priority. Beside the time spent in working and relating with others, we must set out time to rest in God, meditate on His Word and be rejuvenated by His Presence. This is the most important part of your day, because it is time spent with your Source.
