PRACTICE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Proverbs 15:30
“The king’s favor is toward a wise and discreet servant, but his wrath is against him who does shamefully.”

A cheerful countenance can have a powerful impact on those around us. A smile, for instance, can lift the spirits of others and make them feel more positive. This is especially important when the people we meet may be struggling with stress, anxiety, or depression. A cheerful countenance can indeed offer hope and encouragement to others.

Just as our opening text today spells out, a cheerful countenance can also have positive effects on our own mental and emotional well-being; it rejoices the heart! When we choose to be happy and show it through our facial expressions and body language, it can lift our own mood and help us feel more positive, thereby enhancing productivity and lifting our overall sense of well-being.

However, keeping a cheerful countenance does not mean we should ignore or deny our emotions. Sometimes, we will have difficult days, but even in the midst of the challenges, we can choose to be upbeat by focusing on the good, looking for reasons to be thankful, as we trust in God’s goodness and faithfulness.

Therefore, whether you are at your work desk today, in transit or relating with colleagues, customers or family members, strive to have a cheerful countenance, not just for the benefit of others, but also for your own well-being. Cultivate that sense of joy that comes from your fellowship with God, and let that joy shine through your face as you interact with others throughout the day.

PRAYER FOR A NATION-SWITZERLAND
Not long ago, almost every person in Switzerland would have been a Christian. Today, around one in seven considers himself non-religious. Muslims account for as much as 6% with many other religions appearing and growing rapidly.

Prayer for the nation:
Father in the name of Jesus, we we ask for wisdom upon church leaders in Switzerland that will cause them to effectively reach out to the non-religious in the nation, in the name of Jesus

Prayer for the leaders:
Father, we pray for the salvation of the leaders of Siwtzerland, that they will come to know you in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL – (Ps 122:6)
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the body of Christ will receive a revelation of love and unity, that will cause us to act as one in Christ, in Jesus Name.

PRAYER FOR SOULS/ REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for every lost soul in our city, and we ask that every veil of deception over their eyes and hearts be turned away.
