PRESS IN FAITH

 “When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his” garment. 

It is often heartwarming to observe the display of desperate faith in a child who is learning to walk. The child tries to take some steps and then falls down helplessly. However, almost immediately, you see him/her attempting to get up and attempt to take more steps. While one may feel sorry for the toddler because of the incessant falls, the child on the other hand is thinking differently, having seen the adults moving so freely, he/she has a feeling it can be done. So, the child moves on again and again until he/she perfects the act. This is the same way Faith behaves.

We see a similar display of desperate faith in the woman with the issue of blood. Having heard of Christ Jesus, she was determined to reach Him, regardless of the crowd and the challenges she may face on that quest. Our opening scripture reiterates that she pressed her way through to touch the helm of Christ’s garment. What a faith!

We see then that desperate faith does not take ‘No’ for an answer; rather, it gets up again and again until it reaches its goal. You need such momentum this year to make record outstanding testimonies even in the face of challenges. When challenges come pressing, press harder in faith, never letting anything stand between you and Christ in the place of fellowship. This is key in securing your momentum all year long. Hallelujah!

PRAYER FOR A NATION – SRI LANKA
84% are unreached with the Gospel, while the largest religion is Buddhism. Sri Lanka has suffered much in the past generation from bloody civil wars, which caused many to emigrate, and over one million are displaced. Malnutrition, selective abortion, and child prostitution are on the rise in Sri Lanka.

Prayer for the nation:
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the doors of the Gospel will be opened in the nation Sri Lanka, in the name of Jesus.

Prayer for the leaders: Father, in the name of Jesus, help the leaders to make decisions that favour the course of the Gospel, leading to a mighty revival in the land, in Jesus name.

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL – (Ps 122:6)
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father in the name of Jesus, we bind every spirit of religion and traditions in the church in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER FOR SOULS/ REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, pour out your Spirit upon our city today, and cause there to be a mighty harvest of souls into your kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
