Accountability is the acknowledgment and assumption of actions, decisions, products, and policies. To be accountable therefore, is to have a sense of responsibility for your own behaviour and actions.

Accountability is a key requirement for success, yet some persons never want to be audited and others never want to be corrected. A person of accountability is transparent and always willing to undergo scrutiny. When he is corrected or is found wanting, he accepts responsibility and takes action for change, thereby becoming wiser and more productive in the process. Thus, if you must succeed on your job, in your business, or even as a leader in any circle, you must train yourself for accountability.

Begin by holding yourself accountable for every of your actions and the projects that you undertake. Work like a steward with a due sense of accountability, and do not give excuses for yourself. Be accountable to God, who sees all things, knows all things and will judge all things. Be accountable to your earthly masters also, honouring their authority as ordained by God. This is profitable for you (Heb. 13:17).
