Live Now: OH LORD INCREASE MY STRENGTH – Praying the Promises 13th Dec. 2023
DECEMBER 16 , 2023
GRATITUDE BIRTHS COMMITMENT
1Samuel 1:27-28
“For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD.”
The conventional way of expressing gratitude is saying ‘Thank You’. Though conventional, this is not a sufficient display of gratitude, because gratitude goes beyond what is said.
In our opening text today, we see how Hannah returned to dedicate Samuel unto the service of God after her womb was opened. This shows us that gratitude entails standing by the one to whom you owe thanks and supporting His vision. The most excellent display of gratitude is in rededicating our lives and resources to the furtherance of God’s Kingdom on the earth.
True gratitude births commitment. It starts with what is said, but is perfected in the commitment that we make thereafter. As we give God thanks this season, in what ways would you commit yourself to God’s assignment on the earth? Consider this today and throughout the rest of this month and make a special commitment to God as a sign of your gratitude.
