LIVE IN OBEDIENCE

Scriptural Text: 1 Samuel 15:22
“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”

God speaks to us in different ways, through the Bible, the voice of His Spirit, in our inner man, His ministers and even through the occurrences around us. The essence of His Word is so we may be guided, preserved and lifted by them. Thus, when God gives us an instruction, it is better and profitable if we obey, because we can only enjoy the good of the land when we are willing and obedient (Isa. 1:8)

Our opening text today shows us what God values. It says that God values our obedience to Him more than our sacrifice, though our obedience will often lead us to sacrifice. Also, when we obey the LORD, we show that we trust in Him and exalt Him above our situation or present circumstance. Thus, obedience pleases Him.

Therefore, as you go about your day, keep in mind that God’s desire is that you mature to the point where you obey His word without delay or excuses, and set your heart to obey every instruction of the Spirit.

Remember that God's Spirit will be there to teach and guide you to walk in obedience each and every day. So, choose today to begin to swiftly obey the voice of God to you and you are sure to begin to enjoy all that He has in store for you.

Father in the name of Jesus, strengthen me to be a doer of your word in every season of my life, in Jesus name.

🏴PRAYER FOR A NATION - SINGAPORE
The majority of its population is Buddhist. Singaporean society is built on dedicated labor, discipline, and self-reliance but emphasizes on performance and wealth. Materialism has noticeably increased. Much of Singapore's influence is now dependent on imported labor from poorer countries who are exploited.

Prayer for the nation:
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the admirable strength of Singaporeans to achieve great wealth will not in themselves become idols, in Jesus name.

Prayer for the Leaders:
Father in the name of Jesus, we bind the spirit of greed and thirst for power that is prevailing within the government of this nation, in Jesus name.

🕍 PRAYER FOR ISRAEL – ( Psalms 122-6 )(Ps 122:6)
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH:
Father in the name of Jesus, we come against every erroneous doctrine being perpetrated in the church, that is causing disagreements and disunity, in Jesus name.

💒PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that doors of utterance be opened unto our labourers as they go to the fields, in Jesus name.
